Xiaohongni (小红泥) Ore and Clay

Xiaohongni (小红泥, “Little Hongni”) is a unique zisha ore, distinct from its Hongni namesake[1]. First identified and purposefully mined in the 1950s, the ore is yellow-green with a powdery surface texture; Xiaohongni is mined in the Chuanbu Village Chalin Mine (川埠查林矿区, Chuanbu Chalin Kuangqu) and the Fudong Village Mine (洑东矿区, Fudong kuangqu)[2], below the yellow stone layer; the ore fires to a red color similar to Hongni.
